About Rachel (El)
My name is Rachel — though in the health and wellness community I’m often known as El.
I’ve been where you are. Not in a general way. In a specific, devastating, this-is-not-the-life-I-planned way.
My health started declining when I was a young woman, but by the time the pandemic hit I was completely disabled. I was living with my parents in Anniston, Alabama — my health had declined to the point that living on my own and caring for myself was simply not possible. There were weeks I couldn’t hold an iPad or even open a bottle of pills. On my worst days, the pain made it impossible to open the refrigerator door. For about a year I was essentially bedridden, dependent on family and friends to take care of me and my pets.
I saw doctor after doctor. I did the x-rays, the nerve tests, the MRIs. After four years of going from doctor to doctor with no real answers, one doctor looked at all my bloodwork, told me everything was normal, and said: “You’ve ruined your entire life. There’s no such thing as candida or mold illness — this is just a loop in your brain.”
I left that appointment devastated. But I wasn’t done.
A neurologist I trusted referred me to a holistic doctor she had welcomed into her practice — because after the pandemic she was seeing too many people she simply couldn’t help through conventional medicine alone. When I went in, one of the practitioners listened to me describe my symptoms for about half an hour and said quietly: “I think you might have Lyme disease.”
A scan confirmed it — Lyme disease with four co-infections, plus mold illness, adrenal issues, and more. And for the first time in years, someone had something that could actually help.
I began holistic treatments and started getting better. But I still couldn’t fully shake the muscle spasms. Then I found hydrogen rich water — and went from having a teaspoon of energy a day to a full gallon almost overnight. And then, through a support group, a wonderful woman and a local health coach reached out at about the same time and asked if I’d be willing to try phototherapy patches. I said yes. They sent me enough for about three weeks.
I put them on. And my life changed.
Within months I was driving again. Cooking big meals. Standing on my feet. Shopping. Doing whatever I wanted. In less than a year I felt like a normal person for the first time in decades.
As a little girl my absolute favorite superhero was Wonder Woman. During my worst years I kept her close — a mug, a t-shirt. She was the vision of what I wanted to feel like again: strong, capable, ready for whatever came next. Just a few months ago a dear friend returned from a trip to Italy and brought me a beautiful Wonder Woman book — because she had heard my story and heard me describe exactly how getting well had made me feel. That gift meant everything. It still does.
That’s what I want for you.
I’m now a Level 1 Integrative Health Practitioner based in Birmingham, Alabama, actively working toward my Level 2 certification — which will allow me to order and review functional lab work with my clients. I work with people who haven’t found real answers through conventional medicine, using personalized coaching, phototherapy, bioenergetic scanning, and a healing philosophy built on one core belief: healing happens in layers. Rest. Food. Movement. Supplements. Stress reduction. Nervous system support. Emotional balance. Mindset. Toxin removal. Carefully chosen health tools. A lifestyle that actually gives your body room to recover — one layer at a time.
I found my first real help from coaches who were still in training, working with clients to practice what they were learning. That open door changed my life. Now I’m that door for someone else.
If you’re tired of being dismissed, tired of being handed a prescription and sent home, tired of feeling like nobody is asking the right questions — I see you. I’ve been you. And I know the way forward isn’t always a straight line, but it exists.
You haven’t run out of options. You simply haven’t found the right guide.
What I Believe
I believe your symptoms have meaning.
I believe your body is intelligent.
I believe healing is possible—even when it feels distant.
And I believe no one should have to walk this journey alone.
In Summary
If you’re ready to stop searching alone and start healing with someone who has walked this road — I’m here. Healing happens in layers. And you don’t have to figure out which layer is next by yourself.
