Your Body Is a Waterfall: Why Symptoms Aren’t the Problem—They’re the Signal
Have you ever seen a waterfall?
I was very fortunate to visit Niagara Falls in my lifetime—(right before I became so ill) and it’s something I’ll never forget. Watching the water pour over with such energy and strength… it’s breathtaking.
I went at a time of year when winter was just beginning to loosen its grip, and the ice was still breaking apart. There were huge chunks of ice moving with the current, crashing over the edge and down into the water below. It was powerful. Alive. Constantly moving.
It was chilling—no doubt—and, in a way, a reflection of the season I was about to enter. As I watched the ice begin to thaw, I had no idea I was heading into a long winter of my own.
And yet… it was still a breathtaking, powerful sight.
Here in my home state of Alabama, we also have some beautiful places to experience waterfalls. And every time I’m near one, I notice the same thing—
My body softens.
My breathing slows.
My nervous system feels calmer.
There’s something about flowing water that just soothes us.
And I have a feeling many of you feel that too.
Your Body Is Designed to Flow
Your body is designed to flow—like a waterfall moving freely from its source into a clear, still pool below.
Nutrients come in.
Toxins move out.
Energy circulates.
Signals fire clearly.
When that flow is uninterrupted, the water stays clean, the pool remains clear, and everything downstream functions the way it’s meant to.
But over time, things begin to build up.
Stress.
Toxins.
Hidden infections.
Parasites.
Medications.
Inflammatory foods.
Unprocessed emotions.
Traumatic experiences.
Infections.
A nervous system that’s been stuck in survival mode for too long.
One “rock” in the stream isn’t a problem.
Your body is incredibly adaptive—it simply flows around it.
But rock after rock after rock…
The flow begins to slow.
It splits.
It stalls.
Some areas stop receiving what they need.
And the pool below?
It becomes murky. Stagnant.
That’s when symptoms begin to show up.
Fatigue.
Brain fog.
Anxiety.
Digestive issues.
Pain.
That quiet but persistent feeling that something just isn’t right.
Symptoms aren’t random.
They’re your body’s way of saying: “Something is interrupting the flow.”
Notice the difference in the two waterfalls. Which one are you drawn to?
How Do We Begin Clearing the Rocks?
This is where I take a different approach.
Not chasing symptoms.
Not guessing.
Not overwhelming your system.
We begin by gently identifying where the rocks are—so we can support your body in clearing them, layer by layer.
Step 1: Finding the Rocks
We use a combination of:
• Bioenergetic scans to identify stress patterns and imbalances
• Functional medicine testing, when appropriate
• Your existing diagnoses and lab work from your primary care provider (PCP), when relevant
• And most importantly—your symptoms and lived experience
We also take into account any care you’re already receiving.
This isn’t about replacing your doctor—it’s about working with what you already know.
Your medical team plays an important role, and they often have a specific set of tools and focus areas. We simply look a bit wider, helping uncover additional areas where your body may need support that haven’t been fully addressed yet.
Medications and surgeries can be powerful—and at times life-saving—interventions. At the same time, we look deeper at what may have led the body to need that level of support in the first place.
As we support the body in returning to balance, we may be able to reduce the need for more intensive interventions over time.
And I don’t know about you—but if my body can be supported in a way that helps me avoid surgery or medication, I’ll take that every time.
Your body is always communicating.
We simply learn how to listen.
Step 2: Supporting the Energetic Layer
Before we push the body… we support it.
We begin with the energetic layer—how the body communicates, adapts, and responds.
Infoceuticals are one of the ways we support the energetic level of the body—helping restore communication so the physical body can begin to follow.
Then we can add phototherapy and gentle nervous system support.
Because a body that feels safe…
is a body that can begin to heal.
Step 3: Layering in Physical Support
Once the body is more regulated, we begin to layer in support:
• Targeted supplements
• Simple, sustainable lifestyle shifts
• Drainage and detox support (when appropriate)
• Supportive, hands-on modalities such as chiropractic, massage, myofascial release, and other forms of bodywork
These hands-on therapies can help soften areas of restriction, calm the nervous system, and support the body in returning to a smoother, more natural flow.
• Gentle supportive tools such as essential oils, Bach remedies, and homeopathic and frequency-based formulas
Not all at once.
Not aggressively.
Healing happens in layers.
I like to present a few aligned, targeted options and invite my clients to choose what resonates most with them—because the body often knows what it’s ready for.
Your scans are very helpful in showing where your body is asking for—and most receptive to—support.
Step 4: Food Sensitivities
This is one of the most common places people get stuck.
They find out they’re sensitive to certain foods…
and assume they need to avoid them forever.
So they begin removing more and more—
until their diet becomes restrictive, stressful, and lacking key nutrients.
But most food sensitivities are not permanent.
They’re a signal, not the root cause.
So yes, we may temporarily remove certain foods
to give your body space to calm down and repair.
But the goal is always:
Repair → Rebuild → Reintroduce
Because your body needs nourishment.
It needs variety.
And it needs flexibility.
Of course, true allergies are different—and those should absolutely be avoided.
But sensitivities?
In most cases, they’re temporary when the body is properly supported.
Take a moment and imagine what life could feel like with those rocks gently moved out of the way.
The flow restored.
Energy moving freely again.
You wake up feeling more clear.
You move through your day with a sense of steadiness and ease.
Your body feels more resilient—able to adapt, to bend without breaking.
A night of less sleep doesn’t throw everything off.
A cold or small illness comes and passes more easily.
Even life’s stressors—family, work, the unexpected—feel more manageable.
You find yourself bouncing back instead of staying stuck.
Recovering instead of spiraling.
Flowing instead of forcing.
You feel peaceful, at ease, and able to handle whatever comes your way.
You’re able to make decisions with confidence and move through your world with clarity.
Your body moves in and out of rest and recovery with ease, and you feel well and strong—not just physically, but mentally too.
Coming Back to Flow
This work isn’t about fixing you.
It’s about removing what’s in the way—
so your body can return to what it already knows how to do.
Balance.
Flow.
Gently.
Layer by layer.
At a pace your body can actually sustain.
A Gentle Invitation
What “rocks” might be sitting in your waterfall right now? You may have a clear idea, you may not.
No pressure. No urgency.
Just awareness.
And if you feel like you’d like support in identifying those rocks and layers—and gently clearing them—
You don’t have to do it alone.
I’m here to walk with you, step by step,
back to that clear, flowing way of life your body was designed for.
I want my clients to experience a body that flows with ease—so they can feel adaptive, resilient, and supported through all of life’s ups, downs, and in-betweens.
Healing happens in layers.
This work is designed to support your body alongside the care you may already be receiving. It is not a replacement for medical care, diagnosis, or treatment from your licensed healthcare provider.
